Privacy Policy
1. What Fitling does
Fitling is a nutrition and wellness tracking app. It helps users log meals, estimate nutrition, plan meals, track hydration, review progress, use optional AI assistance, sync permitted health data, and participate in optional accountability features.
2. Information we collect
- Account information, such as name, email address, authentication provider, and subscription status.
- Profile and onboarding information, such as goal, age range or birthday if provided, height, weight, activity level, dietary preferences, language, units, and tone preferences.
- Nutrition data, such as food logs, calories, macros, water entries, saved meals, recipes, meal plans, fasting history, and notes you choose to enter.
- Body progress data, such as weight, measurements, trend history, and optional progress photos.
- Media and sensor-derived inputs that you choose to provide, such as meal photos, ingredient photos, microphone recordings for voice logging, barcode scans, and notification preferences.
- Health data, only when you authorize Apple HealthKit or Google Health Connect, such as steps, distance, active calories, heart rate, and weight where supported by the app configuration.
- Social accountability data, such as buddy preferences, invite codes, buddy messages, club messages, pseudonym, and consistency summaries you choose to share.
- Technical data, such as app version, device type, crash logs, server logs, IP address, approximate region, and diagnostics needed for security, fraud prevention, and support.
3. How we use information
- Provide and personalize nutrition tracking, meal planning, progress summaries, and app settings.
- Process AI features such as voice transcription, food parsing, meal image recognition, ingredient scanning, suggestions, forecasts, and weekly insights.
- Authenticate users, maintain secure sessions, prevent abuse, and troubleshoot issues.
- Process subscriptions, entitlements, receipts, trials, and billing support through payment providers.
- Send requested reminders and push notifications when enabled.
- Support buddy, club, invite, and chat features when you opt in.
- Comply with law, enforce terms, and protect Fitling, users, and the public.
4. AI and third-party processors
Fitling may use third-party processors to operate requested features, including cloud hosting, databases, food databases, analytics or diagnostics if enabled, payment processors, push notification services, Apple, Google, OpenAI-compatible AI services, transcription services, and image analysis services. Data sent to an AI processor is limited to the content needed to complete the feature you requested, such as a meal description, photo, or audio recording.
5. Health data
HealthKit and Health Connect data is used only to provide health and nutrition features that the user enables. Fitling does not use health data for advertising. Health permissions can be changed in the iOS or Android system settings at any time.
6. Photos, audio, and camera access
Camera, photo library, and microphone access are optional and require platform permission. Meal photos, ingredient images, progress photos, and voice recordings are used to provide the selected logging or progress feature. Where possible, Fitling avoids keeping raw media longer than needed for the requested feature and support obligations.
7. Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share information with service providers only as needed to run the app, comply with legal obligations, complete transactions, protect against abuse, or support features you enable. Buddy and club information may be visible to other users according to the feature context and your profile settings.
8. Retention
We keep account and app data while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may retain limited records for security, tax, accounting, dispute, compliance, and backup purposes. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify personal data unless retention is legally required.
9. Your choices and rights
- Update profile, language, AI, notification, and permission settings in the app.
- Export supported progress data from the app where available.
- Request access, correction, deletion, or portability of your data by contacting support.
- Opt out of optional buddy, club, AI, health sync, camera, microphone, photo, and notification features.
10. Children
Fitling is not intended for children under 13, or for children under the minimum age required by local law. We do not knowingly collect data from children without required consent.
11. International transfers
Fitling may process information in countries other than your own. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
12. Security
We use technical and organizational safeguards such as encrypted transport, authenticated APIs, access controls, and data minimization. No internet service can guarantee absolute security.
13. Changes
We may update this policy as Fitling changes. Material updates will be communicated through the app, website, or email when appropriate.
